Acts:Level Up

The only direction people should be moving in is FORWARDS. We want to help people maintain a sense of momentum in their lives through our learning centre. Whether it is learning essential life skills, practicing already learned skills or connecting with other people on a similar journey, the Acts:LEVEL UP projects provide a positive environment to do just that.

Acts:Level Up Projects currently include:

Cap Money

CAP Money is a comprehensive yet astonishingly simple three week money management course to help you get, and then stay in control of your finances. Courses happen frequently throughout the year in Lincoln and Grantham and places can be booked by visiting the CAP Money website.

Globe Cafe

Living in a foreign country is a great experience: new language, new settings, new people… But it can be hard at times and it is good to have friends to lean on!  Globe Café is a gathering place for International Students to enjoy British hospitality, meet local people who are interested in other cultures and to make genuine friendships. Every other Sunday at 4pm, guests can come and chat, drink tea and coffee, eat homemade cakes, play board games and practice English!

Level up: English

Level Up: English offers free English conversation classes for speakers of other languages. Living in England can be a difficult experience for anyone whose English speaking skills are limited. We are a friendly, supportive team here to help anyone wishing to improve both their speaking skills and their confidence. We meet every other Sunday at 4pm in the Courtyard at the New Life Centre.

Brushstrokes

Brushstroke classes are for people of all ages, where they may enjoy either learning or practicing already learnt skills in water-colour painting. Classes are very relaxed and run weekly for both ‘beginners’ and ‘improvers’ at New Life Centre. There is a small enrolment fee for these classes.

Creative Workshops

We provide painting workshops once a month on a Saturday from 10am – 4pm. Every month a different prominent professional artist is invited who will teach their technique. There is a charge for the day which includes a light lunch and pays for the artist’s fees.
