Acts:Life

Everybody deserves the chance of a positive and healthy future and we believe that the future begins here and now. We aim to help children and young adults achieve the best start in LIFE.

Acts:LIFE offers positive activities for young people through a variety of projects, keeping them safe, active and healthy as well as helping them to enjoy life, make a positive contribution and develop strong social skills. We provide opportunities for parents and children to play and learn together and offer support for parents to help share the load.

Acts:Life Projects currently include:

Cherish

At Cherish we understand that some of the busiest people are Mums – so we think it is important to provide them with some quality ‘me’ time with pampering and make over sessions. Cherish gives Mums the chance to get back the time they deserve.

SNAP

SNAP is a support network for parents and carers of young people with additional needs. They meet together monthly at New Life Centre for support and friendship which includes a free lunch and relevant professional speakers from education, health and support charities. The team is also available for support and advice on an ongoing basis via our phone and email services.

Chatterbox

Chatterbox is also a parent and toddler group with a difference. In a friendly and informal atmosphere they offer crafts, singing, activities for children and their parents or carers and a friendly place to chat and have a drink. They meet every Thursday during term time at New Life Centre – the cost is only £1.50 per family each week.

Energize

The focus of Energize is to provide positive activities for young people in Lincoln enabling them to live life to the full through sports, creative arts, life skills training and other events. Many of these young people are at risk of exclusion from school and we aim to promote essential life skills such as self esteem, team work, respect and discipline to help them make positive life choices. The Energize team are in contact with around 300 young people each week in schools and clubs and they run activity schemes during the holidays.

Toddle-in

Toddle-in meets every Wednesday morning in term time at New Life Centre. They aim to provide a friendly, caring and supportive environment for pre- school children and for their parent/carers. The morning consists of activities, play, drinks, story time and singing, all for just £1.50 per family each week.
