We’ve been having a great time at our October half term scheme! We have been based at the Energize Youth Center in Birchwood this week and we’ve met some great young people. As we’ve been talking to them, some of them have mentioned that they wouldn’t be doing anything over their half-term if there were no schemes in their local area which makes us so joyful that we can facilitate activity days. Some of these young people would just be roaming the streets for something to do without schemes so it’s great we can give them a safe place to go and have fun.

One girl came for the first time and within minutes was bouncing around saying how much she was enjoying herself and has come every day after that.

We’ve had some great food and played loads of games together. We’ve had pool tournaments and giant games of the 5 second rule which were great fun. We also played a group game of dodge ball which had us jumping and ducking – we aren’t letting the wet weather spoil our fun!

Another great testimony is a young person that due to his living arrangements, doesn’t see many young people at the moment. He’s been with us everyday and and enjoyed playing football with other boys and having somewhere to be with other people his age. 

At the end of the week we have a really exciting trip to Go Ape in Sherwood Pines. We’ll be doing some incredible tree-top activities and pushing ourselves to tackle heights and physical challenges! We love seeing our young people do things they usually wouldn’t try or be able to do so we’re looking forward to this lots.

We’re also looking forward to our mid-week clubs starting back up again next week in Birchwood and Central.

We can’t wait for next holiday when we get to do it all over again!
