We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
In 2019/2020 we supported 5370 people with emergency food aid. 35% of these were children under the age of 18. That’s a total of 48,330 meals.
We work in partnership with other local foodbanks to ensure a really clear message to the city and an easy way to connect.
We are also developing plans for a Waste Food Supermarket which will allow members access to cheap, affordable surplus food. Members will also be able to access our Restore programme to ensure that any support given is holistic.
FOOD DONATIONS
We accept food that is long life and can be stored in a cool, dry place. We also accept toiletries and feminine hygiene products.
