February Half Term at Energize: Fun, Friendship & Growth

We have been having a great time at Energize recently.

Over February Half Term, we worked on the Monks Road estate, reaching out to young people in the area. We also provided outreach/detached youth work, based on the Lincoln Arboretum park, resulting in us propping up football goals & enjoying the open space.

The rest of the week, we had some warm indoor space at Alive Lincoln Central, where we cooked pizzas for young people & had games consoles out for them to play on. They really enjoyed this time.

Following this, we ended the week with two trips!

One trip saw us attempting to get out of the local escape room, putting our team building & communication skills to the test. The other trip was to the crazy golf centre, which resulted in a lot of laughter.

Both trips were really successful and fun & over the course of the week, we connected with 20-30 young people!

More recently, we had a day of youth team training, where we explored several topics together. This was lead by The Frontier Youth Trust, who provide training courses for youth groups across the country.

In the morning, we looked at Mission and Theology, and behaviour management in the afternoon. Our team have asked for resources in these areas, so it was great to be able to support in this way. You can see how engaged everyone was in the photo below.

Our next holiday schemes are over Easter (insert dates in case some people don’t know) and we are so excited for those as we engage with even more children and young people on both the Moorland and Ermine estates.

We are excited for the term ahead!
