Lincoln Foodbank – Trussell Trust Road Show

We came together with many other Foodbank’s to connect, listen, share and support each other. Emma Revie, chief Exec of Trussell Trust opened the day by saying ‘In this room, you are standing and alongside food banks right across the UK; with and alongside people with direct experience of financial hardship; with and alongside local and national partners. And we are standing with and alongside you,’

It was real encouragement being in a room full of so many people who share my experience. The Trussell Trust offer us so much support and continually looking and trying to improve, grow and make food banks as accessible for all who need it.

New figures released this past month by the Trussell Trust reveal that almost 3 million (2,986,203) emergency food parcels were provided to people facing hardship between April 2022 and March 2023, with more than a million of these parcels provided for children.

This is the most parcels food banks in the charity’s UK-wide network have ever distributed in a single year and represents a 37% increase compared to last year.

So many people have been supported locally and nationally through the support offered from the Trussell Trust and they have really offered us a foodbank in Lincoln much support which we are really grateful for.
