Help at Tesco This November!
It’s that time of year again. That time where we think of others and how we can best give, support, and love one another. When we think of those less fortunate than ourselves.
We’re calling on all our amazing supporters, friends, and local residents to join us for this year’s Tesco Food Collection, taking place on Thursday 27th, Friday 28th, and Saturday 29th November at Tesco Wragby Road and Tesco Canwick Road stores in Lincoln.
This event is one of the most important in our calendar. Three exciting days where our community comes together to collect essential food donations for those who need them most. Every year, generous Tesco shoppers fill their trolley with tins and packets that go directly to helping local families and individuals struggling to make ends meet in our city. These donations make a genuine, lasting difference – and that journey begins with you, our volunteers.
Quite simply, we can’t do it without you. That’s the truth of the matter. The collection event depends entirely on people giving a little of their time to help (because Every Little Helps, right..? I’ll see myself out after that pun). Volunteers are the friendly faces who greet shoppers at the store entrance, hand out shopping lists, and collect donations with a smile. It’s simple, sociable, and incredibly rewarding work.
Whether you can spare an hour, a morning, or afternoon, or even a full day (or more, as some do!), your time will make a real impact. Every volunteer helps us collect more food, support more people, and spread more kindness in our community.

Taking part is also a brilliant way to meet new people, represent your local charity, and experience the power of teamwork. Many of our past volunteers say it’s one of the most uplifting things they’ve ever done – a small act that feels huge in its effect.
Whether you’re an individual wanting to support us, a corporate organisation, a community group, your family, friends, whoever – having you there really will make such an impact and give us the extra hands we so desperately need.
We’ll provide all the materials and information you need on the day, so all you need to bring is your energy, positivity, and a willingness to help others.
We’re aiming for our best collection yet, but we can only do it with lots of people stepping forward to join in.
If you’d like to get involved, please contact us at foodbank@actstrust.org.uk to sign up for a time slot or to find out more.Together, we can empower people, and end food poverty in Lincoln. For now, let’s ensure we do all we can to feed those in need this Christmas time.
Thank you,
All at Lincoln Foodbank.
