Finalist at CSJ Charity Awards!

On Monday 17th November, Acts Trust was honoured to be invited to the CSJ Awards at One Great George Street in Westminster as a finalist — a thrilling moment for Acts to have a high-profile showcase and to meet some fantastic supporters and donors.

Simon Hawking and Joy Blundell represented Acts, meeting the CSJ team and the other finalists before enjoying a wonderful presentation of the awards, with award givers including Rachel Riley (Countdown), Lisa Nandy MP (Culture Secretary), Bridget Phillipson MP (Education Secretary) and Akshata Murty with the final award presented by Gareth Southgate, the legendary England coach.

The winners were five fantastic charities that we had the pleasure of meeting and learning from: Grace Enterprises, Zink, We Mind the Gap, Street Connect in Glasgow, and Ripple Suicide Prevention Charity.

Simon Hawking says, ‘Our inclusion in the finals of the CSJ Awards this year is a testimony to the hard work our staff and volunteers put in every day. We are determined to see an end to poverty for the people we meet and this event has put a spotlight on this vital work.

I’d like to thanks Steve Meadwell, our friend at CSJ who has supported us through this process and the Rocco Charitable Trust for their generous gift after learning about our work through this opportunity.’

We want to say congratulations to all the winners and look forward to connecting with some of them again in the future. Watch this space for more information about how Acts Trust connects with the CSJ to help bring stories from the streets of Lincoln to the corridors of power in Westminster.
