On Thursday 25th April, supporters, sponsors, and friends of Acts Trust gathered at the Hilton for an unforgettable evening at our annual Acts Charity Ball – and what a night it was!

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, donated, bid, and got involved, we raised over £8,000 to support our work in tackling poverty and empowering people to end poverty across Lincoln. Every pound raised goes directly towards supporting our vital projects like Lincoln Foodbank, Night Light Cafes, Restore and our Youth Programme.

What a day we had at the Lincoln 10k! The sun was shining, spirits were high, and the Acts Trust team showed up in full force cheering, running, raising money and even pushing a trolley!

New-in-post colleague, Andy Bull, has joined the Acts family as Assistant Services Manager for the Restore & Food Team. We caught up with him about what brought him into the third sector, what he wants to achieve, and his life away from work. Over to you, Andy…

Lincoln Night Light Coordinator.

The Night Light cafes in Lincoln are open 365 evenings a year that couldn’t happen without our
amazing volunteers. Over the Christmas season the Night Light Cafes remained open, being a warm welcoming space for anyone who may have been in need of some company. I was reflecting on this and
how amazing it is that across the city of Lincoln we were able to offer people who may be finding life difficult a cup of tea and a listening ear.

In recent years, foodbanks across the country, and most definitely ours here in Lincoln, have experienced growing demand as families and individuals face economic challenges. 

But 2024 may have sparked something at Lincoln Foodbank, where something has been happening that has bucked the recent trend… 

Two questions come to mind as I reflect on the fun run last Sunday.  Did you see the mass of Father Christmas’s there is Castle Square on Sunday?  Wonderful! That wasn’t one of the questions!  They were “How old are you?” and – I have now forgotten the other one – too old!  Oh yes – it was “Do you believe in Santa?”  Whatever you call him!

Moving towards Christmas can be a busy time here at Lincoln Community Grocery, as we seek to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our members. It is also a time of year where we often reflect on the year gone by and look forward with hope to what the New Year may bring.

Save the Date! Acts Trust is hosting a charity ball in 2025 to raise money to continue carrying out our mission to Empower People to End Poverty in the City of Lincoln. 

On 25th April 2025 we will descend upon the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel on Brayford Wharf in Lincoln for a masquerade ball including an auction, magician and many more opportunities to raise vital funds for our Charity. 

This season, we’re sharing powerful stories from those impacted by the work of and Acts Trust, and we need your help to make a difference.

Today we are shining a light on the Restore project and the brilliant impact it makes through the courses.

“Thanks Acts, it’s made a difference. I did the CAP course, it’s amazing and it has given me confidence in myself.”

 What can you do? Your donations help provide food, support, and hope to families in need right here in our community. Each donation, big or small, goes directly to filling empty shelves and lifting heavy hearts.
